Singapore

All packed and rearing to go John and I drove to Heathrow. We flew out just after eleven for Singapore. The eleven hour flight took a lot out of me, as I am unable to sleep on the plane. John slept like a baby, I was very envious and was tempted to poke him or annoy him somehow to wake him. But I did manage to control my deep desire to bother him, relising I was just very jealous. The flight was long the food ordinary and one of the female attendants very miserable. John had asked for a beer and waited some considerable time until some one else came and asked him if he would like another drink. John explained he was still waiting for his first. The same thing happened for his dinner, we seemed to always get little miss depressed. Poor girl must have lost someone very dear to her, as she was in Zombie land.
We arrived in Singapore early in the morning, our motel was not going to be available for an hour or two, all I wanted to do was sleep. Peter and Robbie were not due in until the afternoon. When we eventually got into the room the bed looked so inviting, so I hopped in and was out like a light, until the phone call from Pete and Robbie. We spent two days in the lovely company of the Blains. We did a little sightseeing and would have seen more except that one of we four had a hang over on our last day. Before you all guess let me say that it was not me! and Pete and Robbie would get offended if you thought it would be them. I believe we all had a wonderful time and very much enjoyed our stay, except for my mastering the chopsticks. There is one Singaporean much happier for my struggles, it seems I was such an amusing sight for him he could not stop staring and laughing.
