We flew to Brisbane from Sydney, and caught a train to Helensvale where John’s beautiful mum was waiting to drive us to Maudsland. The following day was Dawns birthday so John and I drove Dawn and her friend Gladys to a beautiful restaurant near Uki in NSW.
It was Gladys who suggested this place and it was just magical well worth the drive. John in his infinite wisdom suggested the scenic drive back to Maudsland, just a bit longer he said. Yes the scenery was beautiful but it was hours added to our trip home, I believe there were three ladies in the car wanting to hit him, especially as their bladders filled and the countryside did not lend itself to offering large accessable trees, for a lady to sit behind. We were relieved to get back to John’s mums home. Our lesson for this day was never believe John, if he says it is a little out of our way we want more details.
