Australia

We arrived in Sydney on Monday morning the 24th of March I realized how happy I was to be home, and filled with over whelming emotions I started to cry. Our first day back we stayed at Jackie and Alex’s. John had not seen the Rouse Hill complex so we had a quick tour where I invested in a pair of thongs (for the tooties) as I had blisters all over my feet, my usual shoes played havoc in Singapore maybe my feet swelled a bit, John was very impressed with the Rouse Hill centre and thought it not unlike Pacific Fair in Queensland. Jackie and Alex put on a barbecue dinner knowing how much we missed good steak and we enjoyed every mouthful. We then commandeered Lisa’s bed and she was delegated the futon in their spare room, Lisa was very gracious about it all. I would be dammed if I would give up my new bed, for two old farts to sleep in, Tuesday I caught up briefly with my work colleagues at Stanhope pharmacy, again I felt sad and realized how much I miss them all. Many changes have happened since I have left but all for the better.
From Stanhope we drove to Narellen where Steve, John’s brother lives. We stayed one night with Steve and Margaret who are in the middle of renovating, again taking a bed that belonged to their daughter Sally. Steve and Margaret took us out for an exceptional meal at a local Thai restaurant. It was lovely to see John and his brother bantering, and it is just great that if I torment John I have an ally in Steve who likes nothing more than to stir his brother. John and I both slept well in Sally’s bed. We love the egg carton foam mattress base, and we were forbidden to participate in any hanky panky. Little did Sally know that we were both suffering from jet lag and that was the last thing on our minds.
