Settled again.

Back in England for several weeks now, and I have only just settled. I really felt sad leaving Australia and I wished I had more time to catch up with every one. Kurt kept the house immaculate; although I suspect he did the last minute clean up the day before we arrived home.
Mortimer in spring is magical although the daffodils have died off the jonquils are still going strong. Most gardens have tulips in a variety of colours it looks picturesque. The fields have a carpet of a cute white little daisy so petite, I love my walks. The hedges that edge the roads and farms, are coming out in bud with fresh new leaves it is so pretty.
The weather has been warm with an odd cold day here and there. But I have had a t shirt on for most of the week ( not the same one ). John and I got into the garden last weekend our parents would have been proud of our efforts, we filled the bin up with garden refuge it was so much fun. Not the work so much, but being outside with John and working together.
Kurt has started his new job, the pay is good but being a patrol officer in the estates that he patrols is not fun. In one estate they have rival gangs, it is quite scary! he said if he has to go on his own he wont get out of his car. Kurt’s offsider got kicked in the testicles by a twelve year old, because he did not want to stop his graffiti. Sounds like a good job.
John has been in Geneva and France again and will come home this week end, I do not know how he does it, all the travel would really get to me. John seems to be able to handle it though. He can sleep on planes and trains so he does catch up on his sleep.

Wedding Photos

WEDDING DAY

The first thing I had to do on Saturday was go to Kings Langley and get my hair put up, one hundred and four bobby pins later and my head scratched by pins on more than one occasion, my hair was up and lacquered by a can of spray…..okay I exaggerated with the pins and spray. To the supermarket for some batteries for my camera, if you want to get picked up the battery section is the place, because some fellow was desperately wanting to chat with me, it was at this point I thought my hair must look good. I drove back to Jackie’s feeling pretty sexy. Sarah came over and made up my face, I felt so special and beautiful. Sarah even attacked her father and made him look much fresher tidying up bits and pieces, not allowed to say what bits or pieces, maybe above the eyes….no I am not saying he got his brows done. Time to adorn ourselves with the wedding gear, all went smoothly and we looked smart trotting off to our cars. What a wonderful day the sun was shining but not too hot. Ben, Rowan and Brigitta met us in the car park we had Robyn and Peter already waiting for us, Robbie presented me with a bunch of cream roses in a beautiful bouquet. Slowly our guests arrived everyone on time. How wonderful to have family and a few close friends. John looked so handsome and I have never felt so excited in my life. The vows went beautifully with John add libbing a little, it now seems I have committed myself to making him breakfast in bed everyday. The day was filled with emotion, we are so lucky to have beautiful children and special friends. Having Trent give me away was just fantastic and Jake's huge effort to get Kurt participating over the web was very much appreciated. Karee made a speech which had me in tears and Kurt's speech read by Trent had us laughing. Happiness, pride, excitement, love all at the same time. Suddenly I wanted to share all this with my mum, and I wished circumstances could have been different and she would have been there. The luncheon was exceptional but I would have eaten anything. Such a big day we partied on at the Motel up the road. Where I had a little more opportunity to chat with everyone, and so it continued drinking and chatting until it was time to retire, and I was a little tipsy. Mrs Irwin drunk never!

Thursday 3rd April

Thursday we flew back to Sydney in the afternoon, the plane was held back 55 mins because of strong winds at Mascot, we hired a car and drove to the Williams's home where we again commandeered Lisa’s bedroom. Friday morning John drove me to North Ryde to a crematorium, I was to meet up with Sylvia Karee and Michael, we were there for the celebration of my auntie Cath's life. A beautiful lady that I always admired and to my surprise learned she wrote poems, I felt sad that I did not know her better. Following the celebration we all had a quick lunch. Sylvia left for home while Michael and Karee drove me back to Stanhope. A quick freshen up then Jackie Lisa and I met the boys and Robyn at Muirfield golf course for dinner. The boys Ben Alex Peter and John regaled us with stories of their great afternoon of golf.
Not wanting a late night because the following day was to be our wedding day we came home early, but laying in bed my mind was racing thinking about auntie Cath and how little I know about her and her family.
